As part of the campaign, both Buddy and Sid are depicted “caught reading” in posters made available to teachers and parents for use in classrooms, libraries and other locations. According to the Association of American Publishers, research indicates that early language experience actually stimulates a child's brain to grow and that reading to children gives them a huge advantage when they start school. To that end, the members of the association hope to encourage people of all ages to enjoy books and magazines and to share that pleasure with the young children in their lives. Get Caught Reading Month has been supported in the past by such well-known figures as former First Lady Laura Bush, Drew Carey, Whoopi Goldberg, Derek Jeter, Vernon Jordan, Jake Lloyd, Rosie O'Donnell, Dolly Parton, Jane Seymour, Sammy Sosa, Erik Weihenmayer, and Robin Williams, all of whom have been "caught reading" their favorite books and magazines for print ads and posters seen by millions of people across the country. Several Dinosaur TRAIN and SID THE SCIENCE KID books are available to encourage children and their parents to Get Caught Readingin May. I was lucky to review with the help of my teen and baby niece and nephew The Buddy & Friends board book and & "A Surprise for Mom! books. These books are informative, fun, beautifully written, and perfect for any child! They were great books to read on Mother's day with your child. They are great books that are well made to withstand a child handling them and I highly recommend these fantastic books. They introduce your child to these amazing Jim Henson characters as well!

I loved this show when it was on the air. I love animation so I watch every show I found regardless of how old I was. I would watch it with my teen when he was a kid/baby. I loved watching it regardless and I'm so excited to see it being released on DVD.

CHOO CHOO! Let's CELEBRATE TRAINS THROUGHOUT THE MONTH OF MAY WITH THE HIT PBS KIDS SERIES DINOSAUR TRAIN! I love this show for my younglings in my home!
“Dinosaur Train” will celebrate America’s love of trains with special programming and activities throughout the month of May. To kick off, the award-winning and critically acclaimed animated preschool series from The Jim Henson Company, will debut an all new episode on May 6 on PBS KIDS (please check local listings). Additionally, special train-themed activities and events will be featured in partnership with local PBS stations and on the series’ website.
Celebrating National Train Day, which takes place on May 7th, the new episode includes two 11-minute animated segments with live-action sequences featuring a paleontologist who brings to life the show's natural science and natural history curriculum for preschoolers. In “Junior Conductor Jamboree,” Buddy and his family ride the Dinosaur Train from one end of the line to the other and visit all three time periods--from the Cretaceous, through the Jurassic, to the Triassic. In “Troodon Train Day,” the Pteranodon family rides to Troodon Town to celebrate Troodon Train Day, where the main event is a concert by King Cryolophosaurus, giving his first performance in years!
Select PBS Stations across the U.S. will also be hosting train-themed events throughout the month. Participating stations include PBS SoCal, Los Angeles; WXXI, Rochester, New York; WJCT, Jacksonville, Florida; Houston PBS; KERA, Dallas, Texas; UNCTV, North Carolina state network; WHYY, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; AETN, Arkansas Educational Television Network; Vegas PBS, Las Vegas, Nevada; and WOSU, Columbus, Ohio. Activities may include Dinosaur Train screenings, Buddy costume character appearances, Buddy standees for photo opportunities, and hands-on educational activities.
In addition to the television series, there is also a “Dinosaur Train” interactive website at PBSKIDS.org/dinosaurtrain. Children can join Buddy, Tiny and all their friends as they discover natural history and the science of paleontology through fun games and activities. During the month of May, the website will celebrate trains with a special themed homepage and new fun printable activities. “The Los Angeles Live Steamers Railroad Museum is such a fun and special location, created by train enthusiasts to educate people on railroad history, we thought it would be the ideal place for fans of ‘Dinosaur Train’ to celebrate this special day,” said Henson. “Our young ‘Dinosaur Train’ fans--Junior Conductors--will be thrilled with the trains, the exhibits and all of the engaging activities we’re planning in honor of National Train Day.”
“With our recent expansion and re-branding, this celebration with ‘Dinosaur Train’ creates a wonderful opportunity for us to thank our sponsors, supporters and the media,” added Rogers. “It also gives us another platform from which to reiterate our commitment to serving the viewers of Southern California with quality PBS and local programming.”

I'm sure you remember me raving about Dinosaur Train in the past for their Christmas DVD and now the hit television series Dinosaur Train ® is roaring into 2011 with an all-new episode premiering Monday, January 17 on PBS KIDS® (check local listings). You and your kids should definitely tune in to this new season. It's going to be amazing. The all-new episode is called, “The Good Mom;” “Diamond Anniversary,”Mrs. Pteranodon meets fellow mom Millie Maiasaura, who is a little too over-protective of her kids. The two moms share some time comparing mothering methods in a play date at the Big Pond. And, Mr. and Mrs. Pteranodon decide to surprise each other with gifts on their anniversary.
You might be interested to know that Maiasaura, meaning "good mother lizard", was a large duck-billed dinosaur that lived in North America during the Late Cretaceous. There is evidence that Maisaura lived in large nesting colonies and that the parents diligently cared for their young!
In DINOSAUR TRAIN, young viewers join Buddy and his adoptive family of Pteranodons on whimsical adventures through prehistoric jungles, swamps, volcanoes and oceans as they unearth basic concepts in natural science, natural history and paleontology. The Dinosaur Train is a colorful locomotive, customized to accommodate all kinds of dinosaurs, and it has the ability to visit the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous worlds, while the Train’s Conductor, a knowledgeable Troodon, provides passengers with fascinating facts along the way. DINOSAUR TRAIN is a Parents’ Choice Recommended TV series, and the DINOSAUR TRAIN website received a Parents’ Choice Silver Award and was the recipient of a prestigious 2010 Prix Jeunesse Award.

I don't know how many of you watch the show COMMUNITY, But it's an amazingly funny show on NBC! It's about a bunch of wacky people that are attending community college. This Thursday they are doing a special episode for Christmas in STOP MOTION calledABED'S UNCONTROLLABLE CHRISTMAS! I had the privilege of previewing this episode and I have to say I never knew stop motion could make me laugh and feel so moved all at the same time.
The shows stop motion animation is fantastic! I'm a huge fan of the stop motion, so when I heard about this episode being in stop motion I was very much looking forward to seeing it, so I was thrilled to have the opportunity to see it in advance.
The story revolves around the character Abed (Danny Pudi) who trying to find the meaning of Christmas. The meaning of Christmas is lost to him one morning when he realizes he's woken up as a stop-motion character. His group of misfit friends at the college think he's crazy.
Abed's intense fixation on finding the meaning of Christmas concerns the group to the point that they try to seek therapy for him.
Abed takes him seeing himself and the group in stop-motion as a sign that he and the group must re-discover the meaning of Christmas. He sees the group and everything that surrounds him
Meanwhile, Jeff (Joel McHale) who is turned into Jeff in the Box in Abed's imaginary Christmas world just wants it to all be over so he can go back to sleeping around with women.
And Britta (Gillian Jacobs) is turned into a Britta Bot! And he main concern is getting Abed therapy.
Chevy Chase's character becomes a little stuffed bear that is so funny and adorable. That's the only time you will probably ever hear anyone say that Chevy Chase is an adorable stuffed bear! Every person around Abed is like some kind of Misfit toy in his Christmas wonderland fantasy.
The group is extremely concerned about Abed's mental health and they enlist the help of Professor Duncan (John Oliver), who tries to break him of his so called stop motion delusion. The group undergoes hypnosis to explore Abed's winter wonderland and soon unravel the truth behind Abed’s madness. Chevy Chase, Yvette Nicole Brown, Donald Glover, and Ken Jeong also star in this jam packed show.
The reason why Abed is having this Christmas clay-mation dilution aka search for the meaning of Christmas is quite touching and the musical numbers and music are quite good.
I won't give away all the details of this fun episode, but this show was done so well and is so funny and great to watch for the Holidays! DON'T MISS IT! I highly recommend this Christmas episode for the Holidays! It's a MUST SEE!
