Hey All,
I received a review copy of this fabulous children's book entitled Flightless Goose by Eric D. Goodman. I think this book tells a great the story that I'm sure you will love to read with your kids. I read it with my teen. He's a bit too old for this book, but it's always nice to remind your teenagers of the important life lessons this book teaches.
This book is a wonderfully illustrated tale of overcoming adversity and building friendships.
Flightless Goose is a story about Gilbert the goose, who sadly has an accident that leaves him unable to fly. Due to this poor Gilbert becomes the subject of ridicule among his fellow bird friends, yet through it all that he remains strong and does not allow the teasing to change his caring and loving attitude. He befriends a human little boy who is in a wheel chair. This friendship helps to remind Gilbert of how his uniqueness makes him special. Gilbert becomes strong in his legs due to his inability to fly. This strength ends up being an amazing life saver to all the geese. The geese ultimately praise Gilbert for being different and recognize they were wrong for not accepting Gilbert from the beginning.
The Flightless Goose is a great story filled with amazing drawings and life lessons that any child reading it would benefit from. Lessons about friendship, acceptance...and just appreciating what makes a person and or Goose unique.
