Hey all!
As many of you know by following me that there are two things I love in life just as much as my family, ONE is DISNEY and the other is STAR WARS. I am a huge Disney fan as you know if you follow my blog. I even have a rolling island Mickey cart in my kitchen if that says anything about how much I loveeeee Disney. So you could imagine my Joy and surprise when I came home last week to find a package from Disney with two of thier newest games for the Wii and one was Epic Mickey. I honestly had no idea I was getting these. I was seriously overjoyed by this package. I was even more excited than my teen. I figured maybe they want me to review it, so that's what I'm going to do. The Disney gods have spoken.
I’ve heard so much about this game and I have seen all the billboards and ads and I was actually going to go buy this for my teen since we have a Wii. Who am I kidding, I'd probably be playing it as well. Thanks to Disney for allowing me to review this amazing game.
If you have never heard of this game, Disney Epic Mickey is an action-adventure platforming game for the Wii console that sends Mickey Mouse on an epic journey of creativity and discovery. As Mickey, the player is propelled into Wasteland, an alternate world made up of Disney’s long forgotten characters and attractions, and is given the power to wield paint and paint thinner to dynamically change the world while determining Mickey’s path to becoming an epic hero.
The games premise is Mickey accidentally spilled ink and paint thinner all over a world of forgotten Disney works and he runs away to avoid the mess. Eventually, Mickey comes back to the Wasteland he created where he has to go through various levels in order to clean up the mess and paint he spilled to get the world back normal.
The graphics in this game are absolutely AMAZING! People often say the graphics on Wii games aren't that great... Well, this game begs to differ. Besides the Graphics, this game is engaging and fun to play. My teen and I LOVED playing it. And I think it's OK for younger kids to play as well. I will definitely let my nephew play with it who is very young. It's not one of those overly violent video games. Mickey fights using paint thinner in his paintbrush and he erases his enemies. No carnage of any kind. It's Mickey for crying out loud. He's the sweetest mouse there is.
The game also features the ability to:
-Explore and solve challenges in an alternate Disney world ruled by Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, Walt Disney’s first cartoon star.
-Travel between lands in Wasteland through classic platforming levels inspired by animated films and shorts.
And last but not least...
- You can Experience an innovative mix of platforming, action-adventure and light role playing game elements.
